MAD to JPY Exchange Rate

MAD: Bank Al-Maghrib sets a daily central rate for the dirham against a basket of currencies weighted 60 percent euro and 40 percent US dollar, and lets the dirham trade within a fluctuation band around that rate rather than at one fixed number. Under a reform begun in January 2018, Bank Al-Maghrib has twice widened the band — from ±0.3% to ±2.5% in January 2018, then to ±5% in March 2020 — describing this as a gradual, voluntary transition from a fixed exchange rate regime toward a more flexible one. JPY: The yen has floated freely since February 1973, its exchange rate determined by market supply and demand. Japan's Minister of Finance is legally authorized to conduct foreign exchange intervention to stabilize the rate, which the Bank of Japan executes as the ministry's agent.
