UAH: Ukraine operates a "managed flexibility" exchange-rate regime: the National Bank of Ukraine intervenes in the interbank foreign-exchange market to cover the war-driven structural shortage of foreign currency and smooth excessive swings, while letting the hryvnia move in both directions rather than holding a fixed rate. The NBU introduced this regime in October 2023, replacing the exchange-rate peg it had imposed at the outbreak of Russia's full-scale invasion, as a transitional step toward a fully floating exchange rate under conventional inflation targeting. CHF: The Swiss franc floats: the SNB has no exchange-rate target and steers monetary conditions through the SNB policy rate, while remaining willing to be active in the foreign exchange market as necessary. The minimum exchange rate of CHF 1.20 per euro, in force from September 2011, was discontinued on 15 January 2015.
