JPY: The yen has floated freely since February 1973, its exchange rate determined by market supply and demand. Japan's Minister of Finance is legally authorized to conduct foreign exchange intervention to stabilize the rate, which the Bank of Japan executes as the ministry's agent. ARS: Since 11 April 2025 the peso has traded in the Mercado Libre de Cambios under a regime of floating between moving bands, launched with limits of 1,000–1,400 pesos per US dollar that widened 1% a month; the rate floats freely inside the band, with the Banco Central buying dollars at the floor and selling at the ceiling. From 1 January 2026 the band floor and ceiling adjust each month at the pace of the latest monthly INDEC inflation figure, applied with a two-month lag.
