KWD: The Central Bank of Kuwait pegs the dinar to an undisclosed weighted basket of the currencies of Kuwait's major trade and financial partner countries, a policy in force since 20 May 2007. Neither the basket's composition nor a central rate is published; from 5 January 2003 to 19 May 2007 the dinar was instead pegged to the US dollar at 299.63 fils per dollar with ±3.5% margins. GBP: Sterling has floated freely since the United Kingdom left the European Exchange Rate Mechanism on 16 September 1992. The Bank of England targets 2% inflation, set by the Government, and does not target an exchange rate.
