CNY: China pursues a managed floating exchange rate regime based on market supply and demand with reference to a basket of currencies, adopted in the July 2005 reform that ended the fixed peg to the US dollar. The China Foreign Exchange Trade System, authorized by the People's Bank of China, publishes a central parity rate of the renminbi against the US dollar each business day, around which onshore trading is managed. MYR: Bank Negara Malaysia removed the ringgit's fixed rate against the US dollar on 21 July 2005, introducing what BNM then termed a managed float monitored against a basket of the currencies of Malaysia's major trading partners. BNM's current policy statement describes this arrangement as a flexible exchange rate regime under which the ringgit is market determined; the central bank does not target or advocate any specific level, and it intervenes to ensure orderly market conditions and prevent sudden or large swings.
