EGP: In March 2024 the Central Bank of Egypt unified Egypt's foreign-exchange market, moving the pound onto a market-determined rate after years of fixed and multiple exchange-rate arrangements. Banks now set exchange rates according to market conditions, while the CBE continues to hold periodic foreign-exchange auctions as part of its market operations and pursues an inflation-targeting framework rather than an announced exchange-rate target.
