CNY: China pursues a managed floating exchange rate regime based on market supply and demand with reference to a basket of currencies, adopted in the July 2005 reform that ended the fixed peg to the US dollar. The China Foreign Exchange Trade System, authorized by the People's Bank of China, publishes a central parity rate of the renminbi against the US dollar each business day, around which onshore trading is managed. HKD: Hong Kong operates the Linked Exchange Rate System, a Currency Board arrangement in place since 17 October 1983 that links the Hong Kong dollar to the US dollar at HK$7.80. The HKMA keeps the exchange rate within the HK$7.75–7.85 Convertibility Zone through strong-side and weak-side Convertibility Undertakings, made symmetric around 7.80 in May 2005.
